A Spirit costs either 0.0069 ETH through mint(), or one unconsumed Artifact through consume().

How it works

consume() locks that Artifact in this contract and mints a new Spirit to you in the same transaction. Gas only. The Artifact is not burned, and the new Spirit gets its own token ID. This is enforced by the contract itself, confirmed by its on-chain reference to the Artifacts contract address. The consume desk is on each Artifact page and on My Punksville.

Character traits use the same three colors as Artifacts: genesis black, genesis titanium, genesis blue. The verified consumes match color. That is an observation from metadata, not a contract rule. consume() only takes an id. A rarer Artifact does not guarantee a rarer Spirit. Tiles the contract has not minted yet carry a Not minted mark.

Unlike V3 Punks (sold out) and V3 Artifacts (closed by its owner), the original SpiritsOfPunksville contract's mint() function was never closed. A Spirit is either this live ETH price, or one Artifact through consume() (gas only). This panel is the ETH path. The Artifact path is on the token page and on My Punksville. We call mint() directly - we don't control it, and we're not adding anything on top of it. Connect a wallet to check that your call would succeed. A failing simulation here is about this account, not a closed sale.
